Kyung Lee
Kyung Lee is a filmmaker and editor based in the Bay Area, California, who hails from Yokohama, Japan. Kyung’s work focuses on human dreams and desires and explores our universality. Her social practice film, We R Here, premiered at the Odense International Film Festival in Denmark. She is co-produced and edited Wild Projects’ Kim Anno’s directional debut, ¡Quba! We R Here
We R Here is a compilation of 3 short films created in collaboration with Oakland’s unhoused. Individual community members turn the camera on themselves using their own voice as a tool for empowerment while providing a rare glimpse into life on the streets. The project was funded by East Bay Community Foundation, Robertson Family Foundation and Puffin Foundation.
