Site Specific Cameras
Site Specific Cameras is a documentary about two artists, Adam Donnelly and David Janesko, who build cameras out of the materials they find in the landscape. The duo embark on a two week road trip building nine cameras along the Rio Grande Rift zone from El Paso to Southern Colorado. The project is a combination of land art and photography as they consider the cameras to be sculptures. For example, if they want to photograph the forest, the camera is likely made of materials such as logs, sticks, leaves and dirt. Once the camera is built they use it to photograph the landscape. In this way the found materials of the landscape feedback into the character of the camera and the final photograph.
